1. Introduction
Vishsol LLP operates HostelEZ, a PG and hostel management platform for owners and managers of shared residential accommodations. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal data when you use the HostelEZ mobile app and related services.
For this policy, “PG” and “Hostel” mean any shared residential accommodation managed through the app.
2. Who this applies to
- Owners – PG/hostel owners and managers who create accounts
- Tenants – residents whose details are added by owners, or who log in directly
- Staff and other roles – users invited by owners with limited access
3. Data we collect
3.1 From PG owners
- Name, phone number, email address
- Business/property details, rooms, beds, and occupancy
- Subscription and billing information (payments processed via Razorpay; we do not store card or UPI PIN details)
- Support messages and communications with us
3.2 Tenant data (provided by owners)
Owners may enter tenant information for legitimate property management, including:
- Name and phone number
- Room/bed allocation and rent amounts
- Payment status and records
- ID proof images or documents (if required by the owner)
- Emergency contact details (if provided)
3.3 Mobile app and device data
When you use the HostelEZ Android or iOS app, we may also collect:
- Account credentials – email or phone and authentication tokens (passwords are stored hashed on our servers)
- Push notification tokens – device tokens sent to our servers via Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver rent reminders, notices, and payment updates (only if you grant notification permission)
- Photos and files – images you upload such as payment proofs, receipts, ID documents, or expense bills (via camera or gallery, with your permission)
- In-app activity – actions within the app (e.g. payments submitted, tickets raised, notices read) stored to provide the service
- Technical data – basic device/platform type (Android/iOS) for push delivery and compatibility; API requests are sent over encrypted HTTPS
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for unrelated advertising or profiling.
4. Tenant consent
Owners may add tenant details without the tenant logging in. Tenants who use the app must accept this Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions on first login via an in-app checkbox. Tenants who never log in are not asked to accept; their data is processed only on behalf of the owner for property management.
5. Why we use data
- Operating the platform (rooms, beds, rent, payments, notices, tickets)
- Processing owner subscriptions and payment proofs
- Sending service-related push notifications and in-app alerts
- Security, fraud prevention, and account support
- Legal and accounting compliance where required
6. Who we share data with
We share data only when necessary:
- Razorpay – subscription payments (Razorpay’s privacy policy applies to payment processing)
- Google Firebase – push notification delivery
- Cloud hosting providers – secure storage of app data and uploaded files
- Authorities – when required by applicable law
7. Data retention and security
We retain data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Owners may delete tenant records when no longer required. We use access controls, secure authentication, and encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is 100% secure.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable Indian law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting your PG owner or emailing us at support@hostelez.com.

10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes may require renewed acceptance in the app where applicable.
11. Governing law
